There is probably nothing to it. You are probably just thinking too much into it which is never a good thing to do because then you start to wonder things like "Where did it come from?" and "Is he using it on himself?" and stuff like that.
If you REALLY want to know, ask him about it. Ask him what he was planning on using it for first. Then use that to segway into where he got it and how long he has had it and hwy he hasn't taken it apart yet.
Keep in mind, though, that there could be something else behind it. You don't want to offend him and upset him so keep your cool if he tells you something that you were not expecting to hear. Be prepared for just about anything. Be kind and respectful and all that stuff and the favor will be returned. If he says to drop it, then drop it and move on to something else. If the conversation sparks an argument, go out for ice cream or something afterward.
Best of luck

When has a man ever done something right away? He could very well be taking the motor out at a later date. If you continue not trusting him it is going to cause a rift between the two of you. Talk to him, don't let it stew. Ask him questions about the project...it very well could be legit

Yes, you should bother with it. No, you're not a nag, that's a word I'm sure a lot of husbands just like using on their wives when they don't like being questioned. But that's part of our jobs as wives, to know what's going on with our husbands. Good luck.

no - just ask. just say hey i have something on my mind and need to talk to you abotu it, and then ask him all the questions. don't be afraid to ask and if the answers don't make sense make sure you don't put down the conversation until you understand it. don't worry that you didnt' have all the questions the other day. you had to digest what you had found and now you have questions. too bad if he doesnt' like that you are bringing it up again. that would indicate to me he is hiding something.

Why not ask him to use it with you? Maybe a way to relate. Maybe let him relax a little with you. Could be fun. It's not like you found a 3-pronged dildo covered in goop.

Ask him what he's going to make with the motor. Ask him then where it came from. In other words, reopen the conversation in an innocent way and then ask the questions. Where did it come from? What does he use it for? Why had he not used it with you?

just ask in a nice tone where he got it. if he trips then he is most likely hiding something.
