Here are the main formulas/identities to remember:
(a+b)(a-b) = a^-b^
(a+b)^2 = a^2 +2ab +b^2
(a-b)^2 a^2 -2ab +b^2
x^m * x^n = x^(m+n)
x^m/x^n = x^(m-n)
(x^m)^n - x^m*n
x^0 =1
x^-m = 1/ x^m and 1/x^-m = x^m
In the quadratic equation ax^2 +bx + c,
x = [-b +/- sqrt(b^2-4ac)]/2a
sqrt(a*b) = sqrt(a) * sqrt(b)
sqrt(a/b) = sqrt(a)/sqrt(b)
x^1/2 = sqrt(x); x^1/3 = cube root (x):x^1/4 = 4th root of x, etc
distance between two points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is:
sqrt((x2-x1)^2 +(y2-y1)^2)
a(b+c) = ab+bc
If a/b = c/d then ad=bc
