Yes they both are bums, tell them both to get a job.
A woman needs to work and not depend on anyone but herself, same for him.
Lazy bums.

It's kind of crazy. I would kick them both out, unless they were seriously looking into school or looking for a job. I've been going to school or working or both since I was 18, and if my parents had given me permission, I would have started working as soon as I legally could. Unless you're on disability or have another legitimate reason, I think both men and women should be working and/or learning, if they're between 18-60 (you do deserve to retire if you've figured out how).
I don't know why men would date your daughter. I would be giving her a hard time, but I grew up in rural communities and people always worked, no one got a free lunch. Frankly, I would go nuts if I didn't work, I plan on doing it the rest of my life, at least part-time, and if I can't do that, I'm volunteering.

It is a pretty annoying double standard. Many of the girls I grew up around have never held a real job. But, they had a lot easier times getting a date then I did as most guys I met referred to me as "too independent".
Many guys like feeling needed and want a girl to feel like she depends on him for everything. Some girls want a guy they can depend on. Even a working girl wants a guy that's proven he can hold down some kind of job.
It's a pretty foolish standard though, as down the road when financial troubles come along, the girl that's never worked will just jump ship and find someone else to support her.
It shouldn't be acceptable for anyone not to be able to carry their own weight. But, that's the way it is unfortunately and the foolish men that choose women that are unwilling to work do pay for it in the long run.
It is one thing when both parties decide that one will stay home with the kids and keep house, but even then that person should be willing and able to jump into the work force if financial troubles come their way.

No, there is a double standard. In our society a man must be in the process of achieving some goal. Be it school or getting a job a man has to be doing something with their life. What good are you to society if all you are going to do is lay around all day doing absolutely nothing. They have a word for that. It's called a bum. Can you truly call yourself a man if you have two good hands and feet a strong heart and no disability that can stop you from working. And instead of choosing work. You choose to stay at home with your parents because you are to lazy to get of your *** to do anything. Hell there are greeters at Wal-Mart in wheelchairs that get up everyday to go to work. As far as women go they are a vital part of humanity as we know it. Because we men can't have babies. I am not saying that that is the only thing women are good for. I am saying that that is why they get a free pass.

Most married couples are both employed in order to make ends meet nowadays. Every single woman I know has a job. A generation or so ago, women were expected to stay home and do the cooking, cleaning and raising the family, while men were supposed to be the breadwinners. Times have changed, however, and it's rare not to find a two-earner household. What do you feel about your daughter not working? My guess is you expect her to help carry the load as well as your son. I think they both should get a job for their own sake, not just for the money, although they should contribute something to the household if they're living with you, and are old enough to be self-supporting.

If they are fulltime students it's another ball of wax. If not, and they are otherwise healthy, you have raised a couple of parasites. Notice I'm not discriminating - and nor will others. I really don't believe that these are in fact your kids because parents, seeing there is a pattern, would be ashamed. A REAL parent would be concerned about:
- how do I motivate my kids?
- where did I (we) go wrong?
- how do I get on the Dr. Phil show...or has he covered the subject of 'grown children who won't leave the nest' - too much already???
Also, a real parent would be saying 'we' instead of "I" as in 'our adult son...".
For the sake of argument let's pretend these layabouts are in fact your kids. This begs the question: how did you manage to screw up so thoroughly? Dr. Phil would call them both 'leeches' and the audience would agree. Dr. Phil has done this same 'programme' several times now.

I am going to guess basically its because men are looked at as the bread winners and when a guy doesn't have a job he is looked as a slacker. Women care if a man they date has a job or not... if a man doesn't have a job, the woman thinks "ooh he can't provide for me" and any Dad would see that and think that guy couldn't support his daughter.
HOWEVER, a lot of men when they first go out with a woman if she doesn't have a job it doesn't bother them, maybe as the relationship grows it might bother him.
I agree it is a double standard. I personally think a woman should have some way to support herself. Unless she is married and raising kids, it isn't acceptable to me for anyone not to be supporting themselves.

It is NOT acceptable for a mother to cripple her children, to send them messages that they can remain dependent, that they can take advantage of you, that they can live in your basement. It is NOT acceptable to blame others or standards or society or feminism or liberals or polka-dotted cats for our own failings. Give them both 30 day notices to get out. Make them start packing now. This is YOUR fault.
