If I wear a smaller size then a regular small, should I get a petite large or a medium?

petite sizes mean they have shorter arms and torsos. so if your problem is the arms are too long yes go get a petite small. if the issue is around your waist however stick to regular sizes.

Petite medium as it's smaller than a small but not too too small. It should be an in between fit, but not skin tight or it can look bad.

whatever size you choose put the jacket on and stretch ur arms forward, if ur wrists are exposed its too small. u should also be able to hug someone comfortably in it, and lift both hands above ur head
