The Mets have the most balanced team in the NL from top to bottom. The Phillies and Braves are depending on young kids who may struggle down the road in meaningful games.

Let's go by position, 2007, offense:

C- Braves, Mets, Phillies
Braves easily with Brian McCann. LoDuca is solid. The Phillies have not had the same production they did last season.

1B-Phillies, Braves, Mets
Howard is the best hitter of the 3, leads the league in RBIs. Teixeira is a vast improvement over Thorman and Franco. Carlos Delgado has not had a very Delgado-like season.

2B- Phillies, Braves, Mets
Chase Utley is the clear choice here. No one in baseball even close. Iguchi is probably better than either Castillo or Johnson.

3B- Braves, Mets, Phillies
Chipper & Wright are both very good.

SS-Phillies, Mets, Braves
Another tight one. Rollins is having a better year than either Reyes or Renteria. Can't go wrong with any of these guys.

LF-Phillies, Braves, Mets
Willie Harris & Matt Diaz make up a very good platoon, but Pat Burrell has raised his average 67 points in less than a month. Moises Alou has been hurt much of the season

CF-Braves, Mets, Phillies
Another pick 'em. All 3 of these guys are good. Really couldn't go wrong with any of them, either

RF-Braves, Phillies, Mets
Francoeur has some holes as an offensive player, but the best of the lot. Victorino, when healthy, is an exciting player. Shawn Green has struggled mightily over the last 2 months.

I would say the Phillies have the best lineup, followed by the Braves & Mets.

Sniffles answer is horrible. The Phillies have current/former all-stars on the infield everywhere but 3rd, and the Mets have former all-stars at all 4 positions. And the Phillies have the only outfield with all 3 guys in double figures in home runs.

i'm additionally a Braves fan and Frank Wren has reported he will attempt to get 2 commencing Pitchers and one massive bat for LF do no longer be responsive to who he will have the skill to get yet i think of getting Peavy would be a very sturdy situation however the commencing pitchers have had issues of injuries with Hudson out for many of 2009 and Smoltz arm problems. Glavine in basic terms injured and in the event that they choose for to convey back Hampton he's injury services too yet he replaced into ok the excellent starts off he had. The lineup isn't very sturdy like the Phillies. Braves are somewhat popular massive bats are McCann and Chipper. i'm hoping Francoeur can come back and coach all and sundry incorrect that he remains a very sturdy participant. Kotchman i do in contrast to he's in contrast to Teixeira. Kelly is a robust 2b and Escobar a good SS, Chipper will in all risk play a hundred and forty video games so Infante and Prado could desire to get play time and are sturdy functionality gamers. Braves want a super bat like Teixeira yet basically participant i will think of of is Magglio Ordonez of the Tigers perhaps Wren can get a commerce accomplished if no longer the only loose agent massive bat is Adam Dunn which isn't what i choose. Braves want 2 ace style pitchers and a super bat. in the event that they commerce Escobar we could desire to discover a SS. Bullpen is sturdy with Soriano, Gonzalez, Moylan (comeback from injury) the extra moderen adult men are very properly like Acosta, Boyer, pal. Braves could desire to concentration on SP and LF because of the fact Matt Diaz isn't a good LF. A platoon in CF may well be an decision with Anderson and Blanco no longer maximum suitable yet we will not have all stars in each and every place. pass Braves

Okay a healthy Braves team trots out:

1. Willie Harris
2. Edgar Renteria
3. Chipper Jones
4. Mark Teixeira
5. Andruw Jones
6. Jeff Francoeur
7. Brian McCann
8. Kelly Johnson

Five of those eight players are all-star calibur. Not all are having all-star seasons but they are capable of that level of play. Kelly Johnson holds his own and is arguably a better player than former all-star Marcus Giles. Both LFers in Willie Harris and Matt Diaz are both hitting over .320 and .340. I think hands down, there is no contest when you compare the three teams. You can find better players on each team by comparing head to head, but when you group them as a team the Braves are superior. KELLY JOHNSON AND BRIAN MCCANN HITTING #7 & #8? Are the Phillies and Mets #7 and #8 players better? Do they have an All-Star hitting in the #7 spot? I think not!

The Phillies are if you go by statistics, but since their stadium is so easy to hit in, who knows. It's either the Phillies or Mets. The Braves are weak even with Teixiera.

Mets without a doubt.

They have,

Reyes the best short stop in the N.L.

Wright the best 3rd baseman in the N.L.

Delgado one of the few power hitters in the N.L.

Lu Duca who isnt having a good year but is usually excellent.

Beltran who is a great fielder and can steal bases at any given moment.

Moises Alou (I know he is injured) who is a solid 30 homerun hitter.

And Endy Chaves is a all around great player.

The Phillies have a mediocre line up. With Chase Utley ingured the Phillies olny have Pat Burrell and Ryan Howard.

The Braves have a great line up as well, but just not as good as the Mets.

think about this now:
jose reyes-ML leader in steals this season and last. a pitchers nightmare on the basepaths
luis castillo-2nd in ML in infield hits. above .300 average to move reyes over when he gets on
carlos beltran-30/30 threat, speed, power, and switch hitter (as are the first 2 batters in this lineup)
david wright-most electrifying third baseman in the NL. 17/18 home runs i think right now, could have 30 steals at seasons end
carlos delgado-picked his average up from .217 in june to .250
moises alou-righty batter keeping the lineup balanced no matter who is pitching. another power threat
shawn green/lastings milledge- lefty/righty respectively to keep the lineup balanced again. speed in milledge, consistency in green
loduca/castro-by the way castro is playing right now he should have the starting position (8/26/.304 in 115 at bats)

switch/speed/power/contact
switch/speed/contact
switch/speed/power
righty/speed/power/contact
lefty/power
righty/power/contact
lefty or righty / contact/power contact/speed/power
righty / contact contact/power

still missing endy chavez

what other team in the NL has a lineup like this?

braves are too young, phillies are missing pieces, brewers are strictly power, dodgers are the closest id say
but still the mets to answer your question

On any given day you could toss them all in a hat and pick one, they are that close. However, I am going to go out on the limb and say the Braves with the addition of Mark Teixeira who is a monster.

Braves. Last night they had a .342(Diaz) hitter batting 8th! Name another team that can say that.

The Mets, they have a nice mix of verterans and younger players. A very balanced lineup with speed(Reyes, Wright, Castillio, Gotay ,Beltran)and power(Delgado, Wright,Green,Alou, Beltran).
