Audi and Subaru are best know for all wheel drive cars, but Audi Quattro AWD start above $30000. For under $30,000 you have many choices Subaru Legacy or Imprezza, Ford Fusion or Mercury Milan, Pontiac Vibe or Toyota Matrix, and Dodge Caliber.
My first choice would be a Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Limited for about $29500.00 with 243-hp turbocharged and AWD.

The best of the best is a Nissan Skyline, thats a hard car to get though... a Subaru Impreza is a really good car, if you want the fully loaded one it will run you over 30K though and its only a stick shift so make sure u can drive stick, the Mitsubishi 3000GT is AWD too and I think that the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is AWD too, you can find any of the Mitsubishis for under 30K for sure.

a very good AWD car for under $30,000 would be anything from SUBARU or maybe even a godd used Mitsubishi Evolution VIII

I am very happy with my Subaru WRX. I also have enjoyed the Subaru Legacy. And I might also suggest the Audi TT.
