In the early 80's a amazing movie got made.

Same guy would go on to be one of the bad guys in Home Alone 3. The one who geet weed wacked in the barn lol.

He needs a way to stay current with things, he's always late. A friend suggests a personalizer (pda) but he ends up geting a computer. But he knows nothng about computers.

He is a architect and wants to use the computer tobuild a anti-earthquake brick.

Meanwhile a woman played by Virigina Madesen moves in next door. After a power over load Miles (the guy) soaks the computer in champagne and instead of killing it, it gives it life.

When the computer begins to create music, it gets teh girl interested in Miles, not knowing who is listening and copying her music (she plays the chello) and the computer starts to fall in love with her.

As time goes by the computer learns what love is.

It has some of the best music ive ever heard.

its kind of hard to imagine it today.

it was abiut a guy in the early days of Pc's which made it a easier story line

In order to do a remake they might have to change the costar and what he is.

but id rather see Electric Dreams remade then say footloose

...a most beloved and perrenial '80's time-capsule classic, with an undeniably timeless romantic story (...though technologically, upon viewing today, it has not particularly stood the test of time...you think people would welcome a remake, using modern technology???) Regrettably, the powers that be, have not seen fit to finally release the film on DVD...

Character-wise, I always saw Edger as sort of a sickly-sweet, sloppy and romantic counterpart of the Hal 9000 computer, from the film, "2001: A Space Odyssey"...

In addition to the film, the original motion picture soundtrack, is absolutely one of my personal favorites; if it's at all possible to wear out a CD, this would definitely be one of them!!! (...before I bought the CD, I laid waste to two LP's, and three cassettes!!!).

(edit)

...your wish is...er, Hollywood's command; apparently Paramount is on the fast track, to produce a remake of "Footloose", though I am really hard-pressed to imagine a remake coming even close to equalling, if not bettering the original.....see below!!!
