Wayne Dyer has some things - like "Being in Balance". Also, "Feeling Good - The New Mood Therapy" by David D. Burns, M.D. They're not novels though.

Wayne Dyer says: "If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change". Think about it. They did some experiments in physics and that's how they came up with this. (I don't remember who "they" are though. Try to look up Dyer, maybe you'll find "them".)

Sounds as though you haven't a clue what you're supposed to write about. If this is a school assignment, talk to your teacher or counselor so you can understand what you're supposed to do. Moods and feelings are pretty closely related, because if you're in a bad mood, you're going to have bad feelings, and vice-versa. My suggestion would be to write about something of your own experience. Think back to a time when you were either in a good or bad mood, and how it made you feel, and what you did about it, and what the outcome was. Did it affect other people? What did you learn from it? Would you want to experience it again? Sometimes our own experiences are a better source of knowledge than written literature, because you have been there yourself. But if your assignment is based on novels or literature, you might ask your teacher for suggestions. I'm not sure what your level of comprehension is, or what grade you're in.

Try searching a library for "emotion" in the non-fictional section.
