This is the same one who is a puppy, that you want to get rid of because its not cute anymore? Most likely it's sick. If it's a puppy, it shouldn't be getting pregnant.

Maybe it's just faking pregnant so you will love it, like you did to your boyfriend, per one of your previous posts?

You need to find that dog another home. Take it to the vet, make sure its okay (your parents will pay) and find that poor animal a loving and decent family.

Your best bet is to take your dog to a vet. Yes there is a chance your pet is pregnant or it could be something else and with your observation and a vets expertise a diagnosis and solution can be reached.
If it turns out your dog is pregnant and you wish to abort the pregnancy, again talk to the vet and they can tell you the procedures and risks (if any) associated with them.
It may be to late and you may have to let her have them, if that is the case, but you can always give them away. Most people advertise puppies before they are born to avoid having them around forever....giving them away or putting a small (under $100.00) price tag on them should have them out the door as soon as they are old enough.
After all that you should be in the clear to get her fixed, but for sure you should take her to the vet first and foremost.

This is excerpted from http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/breeding/termination.htm

MISMATING AND PREGNANCY TERMINATION

Dogs may be bred accidentally, or may get away from the owner when they are in heat with subsequent possible breeding. The average female dog is most fertile when she has been in heat about a week, and remains fertile for about another week. Several options exist for pregnancy termination.

Ovariohysterectomy (OHE) - Ovariohysterectomy is spaying. Pregnancy is terminated by physical removal of the ovaries and uterus. This is a successful and permanent contraceptive technique. Your veterinarian may not be comfortable spaying your dog when she is in an advanced stage of pregnancy.

"Mismate" shot = Estrogen - Estrogen injections terminate pregnancy by altering movement of the fertilized egg(s) into the uterus. For estrogen shots to be effective, they must be given after the dog has released eggs from the ovary (evidenced by concentration of progesterone in blood greater than 4-10 ng/ml) but before she goes out of heat (evidenced by assessment of vaginal cells on a swab). ... We do not administer estrogen mismate shots at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Prostaglandin - Prostaglandins are a class of hormones that are naturally released in dogs at the end of their heat cycle. ... Prostaglandin F2alpha can be used safely throughout pregnancy, allowing us to definitively diagnose the dog as pregnant before any medication need be given. Pregnancy diagnosis should be done one month after the accidental breeding. If the dog is not pregnant at that time, nothing need be done. If she is pregnant, prostaglandin F2alpha can be administered twice daily for four days. At this point of pregnancy, the pups will be reabsorbed, not aborted.

What a horrifying sounding question. I don't believe in dog abortions (haha). If you didn't want the dog to get pregnant, you could have spayed her before or else kept her away from un-neutered male dogs. If you neglected those things, it's because of your own foolishness that your dog got pregnant. Unless there's some reason why your dog would not survive having puppies, it doesn't seem fair to the dog, not to mention the trauma it would sustain, to kill it's babies when it would have no clue what was going on. You can have the puppies and then adopt them out - no one says you have to keep them. Just keep them until they're old enough to be without their mommy and then give them away to good homes. It's not even like you'll have to feed them - the only extra cost to you of having puppies is feeding the mamma pup a bit more food while she is feeding the pups.

There is no such thing as a dog abortion...yes you can get the dog spayed at which time they will also remove the unborn puppies as they remove the uterus. They cannot just remove puppies without taking the entire uterus. They can only do this if she is not too far along in her pregnancy.

You can go get her spayed instead of ever having to ask this question again in the future. I am not trying to be rude, just honest. Most vets won't do an abortion but some do have a similar "morning after" type med.

let your vet help you make the choice.if the dog is pregnant and you know who the dad is like if he is the same breed you could easily sell the puppies or give them away and then have your dog fixed.just because you think a pregnant dog does not look good is not a reason to kill her puppies.good luck.

I truly hope that you are talking about taking the dog to the vet to have this done? If you are not ready for more dogs, you should have had the dog spayed (females are spayed, males are neutered). You need to take the dog to the vet and let them do what should have already been done. A surgical sterilization.

You cannot give your dog an at-home abortion. That is a horrible thing to even think of doing. If you didn't want puppies, you should've made sure she wasn't allowed outside without constant supervision while she was in heat. You can take her to the vet and check out your options with them. There's a reason people aren't supposed to give themselves abortions. It applies across the board with any living creature and any pregnancy. Simply being, you don't know what you're doing, and a licensed medical professional does.

OMG. I thought you meant you wanted to conduct the abortion.

Okay I get it now. Yes the vet can do but I believe it is expensive and puts your dogs life at risk. It is easier to have the litter and sell or give away the pups. Where do you live? I want one!
