About 3 weeks ago we started to hear a very loud and annoying ringing sound coming from our neighbor's house. My husband determined that it was coming from the heat pump when the air conditioning is running. We contacted them, but we have not received a response. It would be helpful to know what might be causing the problem before we try contacting them again. We have lived here 18 years and this sound has never occurred before, and it wakes us up during the night. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My guess would be that either the fan has a bent blade and is hitting the guard or the guard has lost at least one fastener and is going into the fan. (vibrating)

feels like your defrost timerboard has long gone undesirable. turn your unit over to emergency warmth and use that till you've gotten your warmth pump appeared at. determine your air clear out is sparkling and that the air is moving interior on the registers. If no longer, your interior unit might have ice in it too. turn unit off and set fan from vehicle to on place for a pair of hours if mandatory till it thaws having suggested that directly to emergency warmth.
