The 80s can be defined as the decade that brought us the MTV generation. Created in 1981, Music TeleVision can arguably be called the sound of the 80s, with the added impact of the visual element serving to clinch the deal. Just as the Beatles arrived in the U.S. on TV courtesy of Ed Sullivan, MTV made instant celebrities of anonymous artists like Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Boy George and George Michael. Michael Jackson became the world's biggest superstar thanks in large part to extravagant videos that received heavy airplay on MTV.

I was born in 1984 so I am not very good with 80's music. I think Abba was one of the greatest bands of the 80's
