Being an NFL quarterback requires intelligence, athleticism, and instinct. Rex Grossman doesn't seem to have either.

Absolutely. The Bears will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl again this year.
The defense that carried them to the Super Bowl last year was missing 2 pro-bowlers, Tommie Harris and Mike Brown. Not only are those players back but the Bears re-signed pro-bowler Lance Briggs and acquired former pro-bowler Adam Archuleta. They also just traded for Darwin Walker to play DT next to Tommie Harris, Walker is one of the best pass-rushing DT's in the league. Oh yeah, they still have this guy named Brian Urlacher - he's pretty good too! So a defense that was already considered one of the best in the league has gotten better.
The offense does have some question marks but after starting for one full season Rex Grossman should be more consistent. Additionally they've added some significant weapons on offense, namely Devin Hester and Greg Olsen. Mark Bradley is also coming back from injury so the Bears have more weapons this year than any in recent memory. Rex needed experience more than anything else. Considering the additional weapons he's gotten, he setup well to show significant improvement.
With new weapons on offense, significant additions to an already dominant defense, and a favorable schedule the Bears look like a good bet to go back to the Super Bowl.

Well yeah! Defense is healthy, offense from what I hear is looking very sharp. Rex now has a full year of experience, Benson will bruise defense and control the clock. They do got 1 concern though, since Benson likes to run up the middle, who's going to replace him if he tires out? I can see us going 14-2 with this team.
Also the Rex haters need to shut up. Everybody has their first year slumps. For example, Carson Palmer threw exactly as many TD's as picks his first season and look at him now. And who can forget Drew Brees, a top 5 QB now. It wasn'
t like that about 2 1/2- 3 years ago, infact he got benched by Doug Flutie. So all the Rex haters need to get off his back because he haven't had a Qb this good since Jim McMahon ( that 2 decades).
Anyway back to the hotness of Da Bears. We adressed concerns in the secondary by acquairing Adam Archulata, who more experienced than Chris Harris and Danieal Manning. Mike Brown will be playing Free Safety, where he excells the most. We're also keeping Vash and Peanut for another 5-6 seasons, so the secondary is good. Briggs is back, and that helps. And who can forget Walker, whose better that Tank. The offense is better with Hester and Olson, so expect Rex to go to the Pro-Bowl.
Like I said, 13-3 or 14-2, Superbowl victory, Brian Urlacher MVP ( I could be wrong, if Dominick Rhodes is in second place for all we know he could be seeing Rex with a new Cadilliac), and Rex will be in Chicago in 2008.
Prepare to pack for the trip to Arizona and prepare for us to beat the other team 100-0

The bears will be hot this year and here's why...
1. That D-FENCE. Jesus, I dont know how else to put it but with that D not even a mouse can squeak by with out getting pummeled by brian urlacher. The D-line did take a hit with Tank dismounting but they just got disgruntled DT darwin walker from philly who is decent so hes a good quick replace ment.
2. Hester: End of story. this guy is beastly and can run miles with out tiring. Only problem is that the special teams is not that great. But, no worries, Hester will find a way...
3. Robbie Gould: this guy was close to being the greatest kicker of 2006 if it wasnt for the likes of Wilkins from St. Louis. Expect him to kick very well.
4. The bears have been consistent in the sense that they are now 2 years with winning records completely destroying the rest of the NFC north so they arent in a very tough division. Expect a 5-1, or 6-0 in their division.
5. Im sure Rex Grossman will somewhat mature. He may not be very hothanded right now but he will grow up a bit and if he remains inconsistent, theres always replacements.
Expect them to drop down to 12-4 with a second seed and first round bye because the rest of the NFC is improving and their schedule is a tad bit on the challenging side.

I love all of you idiot Grossman bashers that obviously live outside of Chicago and don't remember what this offense has been like in the last 15 years. Look at some tape from 2000-2005 and tell me what you think.
I love Grossman--he may have been erratic last year, but make no mistake he was part of the reason we went to the Super Bowl and not the reason we lost it. He needs to improve, for sure, but he was essentially a rookie QB in his first full year, cut him some slack.
As for this year, the D is in tact, so long as they stay healthy (Mike Brown injury watch--week 8, take the under).
Reports out of training camp are that the O looks really good, but that doesn't mean anything right now. The NFC is still wide open, and the Bears are on a short list of teams that can go to the Super Bowl. I like 10-11 wins, another NFC North title and deep run in the playoffs.

Depends on that offense.
We know they have the defense and special teams to blow holes in the opposition, but I doubt they will be able to over come a sub par quarterback in consecutive seasons.
If Grossman matures at all, they could be very dangerous...if he fails and Griese goes in, I'm not sure that would be much better. The lack of the Bears signing a Garcia or Culpepper during the off season has surprised me. I even thought Jake Plummer might have been heading to Chicago this season.

Of course fellow Bears fans!!!! Briggs got smart and the "D" is healthy again. Rex is gonna stop trying to do too much and stay within his level of play. My only concern comes from Benson. He has to have a solid season for the "O" to be successful!

you just mentioned the reason in your question. rex gross-man is all you gotta say. did you even watch the superbowl last year? yea, the rest of the team is pretty good but their qb sucks. plus cedric benson has to stay healthy which is highly unlikely. I read some where that no running back has carried the ball more than him from being a freshman in highschool thru college college. dude has a lot of wear on him for being such a young back.

grossman is entering his 2nd year as a starter, and i don't think he'll be as inconsistent as last year. if he is though, he won't be a starter for long. when he's good, he's really good, having several games over 100 passer rating, but when he's bad...HE'S BAD. greg olsen was a nice 1st round pick, a nice complement to desmond clark. brian griese, not as great as his father but a nice 2nd-string qb. hillenmeyer's alright, i like urlacher and briggs better.
they still have playoff potential, so i think they're good. they may not be super bowl XLII champs, but you never know.
