I have flown all over the world during my life time...and just recently I have become terrified of flying. It all started with I was on a plane that hit a storm, and there was so much terbulance I thought for sure we were going down. Also I hate when the plane feels like it is dropping and then goes back up. Although when I am on a bigger plane, like the ones they fly to Europe, I am not as bad. But its the little 40 passenger give or take planes that scare me the most..Please if anyone has advice for me to stop being so worried I would appreiate it

In early 2005, the price of the 777-200LR was put at 215 to 230 million US-Dollars. In 2002, the price of the 777-200LR was quoted by Boeing as 188 – 213 million US-Dollars. That's a lot of money to lose.

Pilots are not allowed to fly larger aircraft until they have proved themselves on smaller planes and logged enough hours. Pilots are then trained for months on the type of plane they are allowed to fly. Most pilots are only certified to fly a few planes depending on how long they've been flying in years as a pilot and in hours logged. All pilots are planning on coming home after work and try really hard not to put anyone in danger.

Things do happen and if you want to know why they happen, go to airdisaster.com. It's an excellent site frequented by pilots who don't want that to happen to them.

Beyond that you can take a sedative before you go on your next plane ride and the next one until you feel safe again.

Group therapy for anxiety and phobias are held free of charge at some hospitals. You sure aren't the only one who's worried about flying and that's nice to know.

I have the same problem some times i think of positive things such as (having fun in the first class, I'll read play eat and sleep). But I'll get my xanax with me just In case i got nervous. So, i advice you to take your medicine just in case and just put in mind that you are going to have.

Wish you all the best for your trip.

I'll be very interested in the replies to this one too, because something similar happened to me with scuba diving. It was my favorite activity for more than seven years, but after one unsettling experience I'm nervous about doing it again. I probably just need to go diving again soon to reassure myself, but I'd like to know what to do to calm my fears, because I know they're irrational. There's nothing to fear but fear itself, but fear can be a dangerous thing underwater.
