I am a big Yankee fan and I know that that the Yankees will make the playoffs this year... for a couple of key reasons:

First, who has the best offense in the league.....comprised of many players who are getting paid the big bucks.?? ummm: The Yankees. This helps in situations where their pitcher gives up lots of runs but the runs support is so vast that the team wins anyway..

Second, the Yankees got some players coming back from injury....1: Phil Hughes SP, a Young gun that shows lots of potential in the big leagues. He will pitch on August 4th. 2: Jason Giambi will be back next week according to Yahoo Sports.. Okay, Giambi had 32 homeruns in 2005 and 37 homeruns last year...this will help a lot as the Yankees are starting to need a better DH that Matsui or Damon..as Melky has been playing OF. 3: Jeff Karstens has been acivated from the DL

Third, the Yankees have one of the greatest players of all time searching for his 500th home run: 3B Alex Rodriguez. He is having an MVP / Triple Crown Season

Fourth, the Yankees may not win their division this year....but if I am right they have a good chance at winning the wild card. Once the Angels begin to cool down, the HOT Seattle Mariners will win their division leaving room for the Yankees to win the wild card....

Currently, the Yankees are 2.5 games back from 1st in wild card................my point stated

Yeah, they only made it 13 on the instant years. they could have made it in 14 on the instant yet for the strike in 1994. that fairly sucks does not it. provided that Yankee stadium opened they have did no longer make it to the playoffs (40 circumstances) almost as many circumstances as they have made it (40 5 circumstances). they have basically complete in first a awful 40 3 circumstances in that span. damn, in the event that they fail to make the playoffs for the subsequent 6 years in a row they'll fall under .500 in making it to the playoffs. They suck, do no longer they!

Will a day pass without this question being asked? No I do not think they will. They have a very easy part of the season right now. After this they have the hardest part. 5 of 6 series are against Cleveland, Detroit(two times),Boston and the Angels of the USA. The Yankees are on fire now but how long will they be able to keep up 10+ runs a game? They will make it interesting but they will fall short.

It's still an uphill battle, but I think no. Can you not wait until the end of september to actually find out.

Obviously most yankee fans will say yes and most others will say no.
So, if you are a fan of the yankees, just believe they will, what difference does it make who agrees with you.

Although, if they do make the playoffs, I think it will be bad for the yankees, because then they are somewhat 'rewarded' for the concept that their approach is valid, unstead of realizing how pointless it is and going in another direction that could be more entertaining for the fans.

They have recently gotten themselves back in the chase by playing well lately. They do have a chance to make the playoffs as a division winner or as a wild card. Although they are 7 games behind Boston in the division, they are only 2.5 games behind Cleveland for the wild card with about 50 games to play.

No. They were 7 or so back in the Wild Card race until they had a stretch against weaker teams like KC and Baltimore.

as a Yankee fan the most likely way they get in the playoffs is the wild card

a million people ask this a day and I think I'm close to right on the numbers I say no, but I don't think it's completely out fo the picture. Boston won today and they are losing, and they can't gain a game and then go right back and lose it.

Yankees fans who are CERTAIN they will earn a berth should be making huge, legal wagers, in order to benefit from their ultimate confidence and insider fan knowledge.

But no one yet will admit to putting down money. It's all talk, which is notoriously cheap.

Yes because the central is overrated and will hand the wild card over to the A.L East.
