We all have different interests so what sort of news really has an impact on you? Mine tends to be anything child related or cruelty to animals.

I can tell you the very thing that makes me stop and the time it happen. Dec 22nd 2004, I just got home from Afgan the day before for my 2 weeks of leave. I was up at the bar my mom was working at that time. I was drinking a little and watching the news, when I saw on CNN that Mozul Base was attacked by a bomber in the Chow Hall. At that time my older brother was there and that stuff made my heart skip a beat. Came to find out my brother was in there at that time when it went off where he would have ben sitting was about 10 feet from where he blew himself up at that day my brother lost his best friend and I would have lost my brother but he got up to go get a slice of pizza. So right there is what will make me stop doing what ever I am doing.

May be a live unscripted TV picture of a UFO landing on the White House lawn or in the new Wembley Stadium at half time and aliens being seen emerging from its innards looking for somebody to speak to about their problem might be worthy of a glance at TV for?.

Major disasters like the tsunami, I just love watching footage of that. Also 9/11 was pretty fascinating watch. Diana was the only news event I have bawled my eyes out at. I'm usually fine until I see others crying and it was the sight of public grief that got to me the most.
Little Madeleine still makes my cry when I think about her and what she might be going through, especially when I look at my own 4 year old sleeping.

I suppose anything dramatic or heart stopping like war, floods, terrorism. I'm not remotely interested in so called celebs and I can't watch anything about cruelty to animals because it upsets me so much.

Pick up a copy of one of the major cities newspapers at your Book Store and see if there is anything else you and your "We Group" find interesting.

Big political news UK and to some extent US and, I have to say (sorry if it upsets anyone) but the news coverage of the events on 11th September - even now, if it comes on the TV, I stop and stare, totally, totally mind blowing.
