If the baseball has special markings, does it make it easier for the batter to see the spins of the ball and more easier tell what kind of pitch is coming?

They're used for special records, so when the fans get it, they will know if it's the real ball if they sell it. And no, a batter won't be able to tell a pitch that quickly from seeing a tiny glimpse of a half inch marking.

It shouldn't make a difference to the hitter, i've seen a ball with the markings on it and they are'nt as big as you'd think.

As for why they are on the ball, that is to know if the ball someone has is the real ball that player used do break the record, or reach the milestone in their career.

Yes they use special baseballs for big events like home run records. It would probably make it little easier to see the spin but just ask Barry not that easy.
