People will give you lots of answers to this question but in my opinion he did it for two reasons. He had been sent to ECW and thought it was a slap to his face and TNA has a much lighter schedule giving him more free time.

He wanted power and influence. He now has the same kind of behind the scenes power (and lack of popularity) in TNA as Hunter has in WWE.

Ok here is the story I'm hearing. McMann is coming back and with his return I hear there is major talks of buying TNA out so why not send a couple of your high name wreslters to them and hype it up really hi and when the buy out goes through you have two great organizations and plenty of places shows to place riseing starts.

No he won't leave why stop being a big fish in a small pond Wwe is better since hogan stepped in,killed the x division,got rid of our ring and brung back wrestlers from the grave

b/c he was/is addicted to pain killers and WWE thought that he needed to spend some time with his family. He didnt want to do that, so he went to TNA.

he got better offer frm TNA.. n they were payin him. around 5 millon but dude thts an old story!!!

He was addicted to pain pills so Vince let him go saying that he would welcome him back with open arms if he ever got over his addiction. He decided to take the easier road and join T.N.A.
