Given the number of defective products and tainted foods that are being maufactured and processed in China and that are making their way into the U. S., don't you think it'd be wise for U. S. consumers to stay away from Chinese goods for awhile? Atleast until they prove they can make and produce goods worthy of our use and consumption? I say we boycott all Chinese goods and products immediately and without delay! Certainly, there must be others we could patronize temporarily, if not permanently. This is what happens when you grow too fast as China has done. Besides, they need to be put back in their box. They've gotten a little too big for their britches and it's time somebody let them know about it...! Anybody with me on this...?

Yes I'm with you! After seeing something today about TOYS made in China for preschoolers having "too much lead" in the paint... really they shouldn't have any lead and this is way past the last straw! (there's been poisonous toothpaste, dumplings w/cardboard,exploding batteries) I agree, but I don't think it will happen. We've become too dependent on their cheap goods to care about the quality anymore, however I advise everyone on here that says they agree to write letters to your senators and representatives of your states. I'll do VA : ) And once is not enough....
While you're at it, it should also be noted that China is the biggest pollutor (and WHy?) because they are busy making all our good in unregulated factories, so if we cut their business we help the environment as well, if at least for a while.

Most people would tell you that America has gotten to big for their britches. I think if America didn't charge so much for their products we would be a better competitor. It boils down to, you buy what you can afford. I would like to see better American products. How did we let everyone get so far ahead of us. We make better money than any other country, but we can't afford to buy our own stuff.

We've become too dependent on our Chinese imports. There's not enough supply from other places to meet our current demands. Also, we've stupidly gotten rid of our native manufacturing capacities.
Too late. We're stuck with China, unless the majority of the U.S. population is willing to make sacrifices to change things around.

How about boycotting any company whose business practices lack regulations, aren't ecologically sound, use sweatshops, use slave labor (cocoa harvesting), and destroy local commerce? How about consumers do some research on the corporations they give their money to? The blame doesn't just lie with manufacturers abroad; U.S. companies don't care about the source of their products when they are only interested in the bottome line figure and making profit.

Yea... I'm not buying anything that was made in China. It's too risky. High volume of lead in toys, antifreeze in toothpaste and then the tainted dog food... suspicious if you ask me.

I couldn't agree more. Especially so since all profits go to the chinese military which is gearing up with ultra modern equipment for a reason.

Gee, I don't think all that tainted spinach came from China, nor mad cow disease or all the recalls of ford and american products because of danger issues....I think it is dangerous to determine that one group of people are the root of all things.
