Rent it again and watch it with commentary. You will love it. They new it was fake but the filmmakers didn't give them much info into what they were going to do to them. The gave them maps and said be here at certain times and go to these places in a certain order. The kids had no idea what they would find or what the directors were going to do to them at night time. So for the most part there reactions are real and they give such great performances because alot of the fear is authentic. They each had communication devices for emergencies and if the directors wanted to make sure the said certain things at certain times. They also contacted Josh separately so the other two didn't know he was going to go missing. So unfortunately it is fiction but it is a brilliant way they marketed and made a movie to be truly terrifying.

you know, the movie has credits, right? Read them... that's how you know it's fake, I guess...
why do you think there was a "blair witch 2" movie?
And yes they were found, to answer your question, they're normal actors... maybe not as famous as brad pitt or those, but they've appeared in other movies.
Sorry... I understand you 'cause everybody thought it was real in its time.

they were actors, but their characters died. Did you not get that in the end? They didn't die from getting lost, they were killed by the witch or the ghost of the witch or whatever was in the woods.

It was just a well-made documentary-style movie made by two young filmakers: Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez.No big deal.Santa is a lie too.
