I've found this to be true. Even when you use eye make up remover you end up with a few less lashes. I look for a mascara that washes off easily with water because when you cry it doesn't streak your face it comes right off and doesn't sting your eyes.

oh no no no... waterproof mascara ends up making ure "lashed fall out" because u hafta rub so hard to get it off!!!!!! its NOT the mascara. If you just remove it properly and give it time to dissolve off, u wont have a problem. The lashes fall out because people become impatient and rub and rub and pull at their lashes to get the stuff off.. dont worry its a myth.

I can see how some will fall out. Water proof mascara is very hard to get off unless you use a eyemakeup remover. It usually clumps up and they fall out. I dont like using it for that reason..

i use to wear waterproof mascara and my lashes never fell out, but sometimes i would have a difficult time getting the mascara off.
but waterproof mascara can be better than the regular kind because
- let's say you start crying, what a mess
-it's hot and you sweating profusely
-or you rub your eyes only to remember your wearing mascara and find it all over your face
use whatever works best for you.

The mascara itself, no. It's the scrubbing that you need to do to get it off that makes your lashes break and fall out.

Only if you don't remove it properly. It dries the lashes out more than normal mascara. Counteract this with a sweep of vaseline over them at night - only a dash though

I'm sure everyone is different, but I did find that waterproof mascara caused my eyelashes to thin out. Now, I only use the regular. Since I don't swim and rarely cry in public, its no problem. Much prefer it; so much easier to remove. Plus a good quality one won't run anyway.

well it is NOT the mascara that makes them fall out, it is what is being used to remove the mascara. Try Mary Kay oil free Mascara. You can get it at www.marykay.com/rebecca. Good stuff.
