It's alright honey, calm down.

1. How old is your baby, you should ask your doctor if the baby can have cereal yet. They have to be a certain age, I think it's six months or they can develop bad allergies later.

2. You buy baby cereal at the grocery store where you buy baby food and diapers.

3. Just read the box, you just put a little bit of the powdered cereal into a bowl and either add formula or water whichever one it recommends. Add a little bit of liquid at a time and keep stirrring so it won't get lumpy. It should not be like paste but not too watery. You should be able to pick it up with a spoon.

4. There are different kinds of cereal, rice and different flavors.

I am guessing that maybe you are really young? If you get the food program called WIC, the WIC nurse can help you out and answer your questions. Don't feel dumb or embarrassed coz you don't know this stuff, we all had to learn. You're doing fine.

God Bless!

Your baby should be at least a few months old before you give them cereal first of all. If you feel ready to start putting cereal in the bottle ( it is not up to your friend ) then go ahead. Baby cereal can be found in the baby aisle at any grocery store. They usually come in a box and you can get different kinds like rice cereal or oatmeal. Pick whichever you want. What you do is just add a little bit of those flakes in with your baby's formula in the bottle. I would say put about one or two table spoons just to start. It will make the bottle a little thicker so you will need a new nipple with a little bigger hole in it, but not to big. From there you will be able to determine as a mother how thick you want to make it and how much to give your baby. Most moms put cereal in the bottle before bedtime as it helps them sleep a little longer because they are full.

Baby cereals are much like cream of wheat! You can find them in the baby food aisle at the local grocery store in a box. You may want to try different cereals, depending on what the baby likes to eat. Do not feed a baby cereals like cheerios or fruit loops, because it will cut the mouth of an infant.

When mixing baby foods with cereal, you simple follow the directions on the box. If you mix baby milk with the cereals the baby might or might not like it. Try the cereal with butter and a little sugar, or a little honey!

Good luck!

Baby cereal can be found at walmart or any grocery store...there is rice cereal and oatmeal. I wouldn't use rice cereal if your baby has tendancies toward constipation, but otherwise it would be fine! I always use the Gerber brand...and usually the organic kind. They come in a 16 oz box, and a smaller one that might be 12 oz (I'm not sure.)

When you mix the baby food with cereal, just empty the baby food jar into a bowl, and put cereal in and stir. Add only tablespoon of cereal at a time, until it gets to the texture your baby can handle.

There are several different brands of cereal, and there are differeny kinds. Rice and Oatmeal are the two most popular....but both of them can have different fruit flavors added, or different foods included. Just read the box & labels.

o down the baby food isle and you will see baby cereal. Make the bottle as you normally do and mix in 1 or 2 spoons cereal. It just thickens the milk up just a little. I have done this with of my kids because they didn't seem to get full on just the bottle. Everyone does this differently, some people will not even do it. So use your best judgment.

The cereals that I know come in either grain form in a box or in baby foods with fruit. The cereal that I used to buy was at the grocery store in the baby food section...it was the gerber brand in a box. I would first mix the cereal according to the instructions on the box and take a jar of baby food and mix a little in with the cereal to introduce my baby to different tastes. Gerber also has baby food jars with the cereal and fruit mixed together. If you have any other questions feel free to email me!

I know exactly what she's talking about, I have a six month old baby that I feed every morning. She's talking about Rice Cereal for Infants. It mixes up like a fine mush (think like grits or oatmeal). Follow the directions on the box. Obviously, you don't need a lot. I use warm / luke-warm water from the tap to mix it and then fold in a couple spoonfuls of baby food (apples and plums or the likes of). And there you go, time to make airplanes for the little one

my friends baby is 4 months old and she just started doing this as well. You will find baby cereal at the grocer or wal mart right next to the baby food. It kind of looks like cold oatmeal or something, its in a box. It will tell you the directions on the back of the box. But as always do ask the Dr before you do this, make sure he/she is ready.

first of all, even tough your friend is well intended do not try new things on your newborn if your Dr hasn't old you so. RICE cereal is the first cereal a baby can try but it is not for babies under 5- 6 months. Your baby's intestines are still very immature and may not digest well the cereal and he/she could get constipated and colicky. If you ask your pediatrician he will say NO without a doubt. Don't listen to your friend on this one.

Edited to say: if your baby is 4 months old you could try it, but I still wouldn't do it then. Is for babys 6 mos and up.

You haven't said how old your baby is. Under 6 months - no cereal, unless you have your doctor's permission. Questions should be answered by your doctor first and foremost then you can "listen" to friends but not necessarily follow their advice.

Also what do you mean by mixing cereals? Do you mean with adult cereals .... like cheerios (which by the way is a good toddler cereal).
