I want to clear iDisk from my desktop and my username for my Macbook is Auzy47. Therefore, it has picture of iDisk with my username under it and I want it to be clear from desktop (but not throw away FOREVER). However, when I tried to drag that icon into the trash can, it said disconnect.

I'm afraid what it would happen and I don't know what that's mean.

I just want to clear that icon from desktop and how would you do that?

I am a week MacBook user today...

thanks in advance...

peacee

If you drag any server icon (iDisk is a remote server) to the trash, the server will disconnect from your computer. This is just a network connection. You can mount it again when you want to use it again, such as by clicking on "Go > iDisk > My iDisk". You can't throw it away forever except by failing to pay your .Mac membership fee!

To keep it from always appearing on the desktop:
System Preferences > .Mac > select the iDisk tab. Uncheck "Sync iDisk".
