I am an amateur gardener that LOVES tomatoes. I have two tomato plants that i've been nurturing for some time now, and they seem to be doing well, however the tomatoes that i get from them (while delicious) have very tough skins. Does anyone know why this is, or how to remedy?

Put them in a food processor and add some peppers and garlic and onions and make a salsa.. It may be the type of tomatoes. It could be from the earlier years hybrid type. You cannot re-plant seeds from a hybrid and expect the same results.

to quick peel, drop into boiling water briefly and then immediately into ice water. The skin splits and almost jumps off.
