Steel tube- nice and tough!

You could use aluminium tubing, it's lighter but not the sort of thing you can pick up for cheap.

Steel tube you just go down to the scrapyard with a hacksaw!



Oh and those wheelybin wheels make great tyres dude

Schedule 80 steel pipe. That will be heavy enough for the frame. You could even go lighter with a schedule 40.

Steel tube isn't too expensive and you can weld it easily. Aluminium or alloy tube is much more expensive and you need more sophisticated equipment and more skill to weld it.

either 25x25x3 box section, or 30mmx3 tube....

the actual strength of the steel is not too important as its all done in the bracing and triangulation points, and you are only using relatively short spans...
