I'm in the middle with him. I'm just tired of some fans & media acting as if he's the only one accused of doing steroids. Last i remember he hasn't been found guilty in a court of law.

While I wouldn't consider myself a fan, per say, I will be cheering for him when he hits 756. Baseball has not punished Bonds for his alledged Steroid use, the Feds have NOT yet indicted him, so Barry Bonds has every right to play. Until someone can show some proof, why should he even need an asterisk? Bud Selig is one of the biggest hypocrites ever, in my opinion. He wasn't complaining about the rampant steroid abuse in the 90s, when MLB was rebounding from the strike. MLB made a lot of money off of Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa, and its extremely weak drug policy could actually be seen as tacitly endorsing the abuse of performance enhancers. Basically, I believe that Baseball is responsible for Barry Bonds, and as such, has to live with the consequences. Barry Bonds breaking Hank Aaron's record is exactly what a crook like Bud Selig deserves. Steroids will be Selig's legacy as the worst commissioner in the history of baseball.

I live in Chicago--I'm a fan of Barry and have been since his Pittsburgh days.

Sure, the guy is a total jerk and may have taken steroids, but even before all of the allegations, he was a Hall of Fame player.

The man has an uncanny ability to hit a baseball, regardless of whether or not he took steroids. The fact is, I don't know how many of those HR's were attributed to steroids--whether they increased his strength or his recovery time. Steroids wouldn't have increased his ability to judge between balls and strikes. No one, and I mean NO ONE, can accurately judge what difference steroids (allegedly) made.

I don't see how anyone can boo Bonds, and then in the same breath root for some of these others that may or may not have done the same thing. People cheered when Sosa hit his 600th, so it would be pretty hypocritical to boo Bonds when he hits 755 & 756.

Of course there are always going to be some fans of anything... but if this must be answered in a yes or no fashion then the answer must be no since a majority of baseball fans are not fans of Barry. When he was in Anahiem during the World Series in '02, I was tempted to run onto the field and whack his bald head with my Thunderstix (giant red noise clappers), but I didn't feel like getting arrested that day. Most baseball fans just want to catch the stupid record breaking ball just so they can sell it =) (otherwise who would want to keep it?)

Judging by the way people STAND UP and take pictures whenever he comes to bat, I would say there are quite a few.
