For example telling me to breastfeed on a formula question .. or this is a good example.. Why do people answer like this!!!!

i think that controlling people do this. people who just want to put others down to make themselves feel better. you just ask a simple question and wow, people are so rude!

as far as the question goes....i have heard that this is bad for a number of reasons, but you are the mother! if you think that it helps, do it. i once ask my daughters ped. about her sleeping patterns and SHE TOLD ME to do this! she told me to put 1 tsp. in a 4 oz bottle...so, like i said before...you are the mother so if you think that it is right for your baby then do it. im sure you wouldnt do anything to harm the baby on purpose.

I tried breastfeeding and it got to the point where I coulnd't even have her touch my nipples when trying to feed her because they were so sore and scabbed up. I cried from the pain. I HAD to switch to formula because of this.

I do think it's wrong for people to get onto you about a decision like this when it is yours. We know it's better for the child to have breastmilk, but sometimes it just doesn't work out. I should have gottan classes about it before hand but didn't think it'd be like this...but i know for the future.

You just need to ignore those who give you a bad time without even reading or trying to put themselves in your place.

As for the ceral is baby's bottle, I am going to do that once my baby is around 4-6 months. My mother did it to me and all my siblings. It helps babies feel more satisfied for longer and gives them more nutrition.

You are the mother. You know what your baby's needs are. Listen to what you think is right.

You know what? Don't even listen to people who criticize you. It's your child, you do what you feel is best. I fed my son cereal when he was 5 months old, right from the bottle, mixed with his formula. He LOVED it, never choked and was perfectly content with a full tummy. Your "mommy" instincts will tell you if you are doing something wrong. I didn't ask anyone, I just figured he was more hungry than breast milk or formula alone, so I put small amounts of cereal in his formula and everything worked out well.

You do what you feel is okay for your child. If he is hungry, feed him.

A lot of people think that putting cereal in an infant's bottle or feeding an infant cereal is okay, when it's not. So while I understand your frustration, it's hard for some people to read more than a few lines at a time.

And don't listen to women who tell you to breastfeed--that makes me want to breastfeed even less.

People can be "Breast Nazis" on here. I couldn't breastfeed my son because he was on a feeding tube. I did pump for him beut when he came home from the hospital after 10 weeks (He was 11 weeks early) I had to switch to formula. I actually had a lady come up to me at Costco once when I was giving him a bottle and ask me if it was breastmilk as it is "Much better for him". I said "No, it isn't. I don't need strangers telling me how to feed my son". People think they have the right to impose their unwanted advice on others. Breastfeeding is not for everyone. My son did have acid reflux and I had to put cereal in his bottle from age 3 months until 6 months when he got better.

Well you asked if they have done it, and they answered, why trick people when all they are doing is trying to help you?
Who knows maybe someone else had the same questions and found some useful advice in there...
