"Nor has Pelosi been a fan of employer sanctions against the hiring of illegal aliens. In 2003, she accused immigration officers of conducting "terrorizing raids" on Wal-Mart stores that led to the arrest of more than 300 illegal aliens"
"She led the opposition and voted against the Secure Fence Act of 2006 recently signed into law by President Bush to build a 700-mile fence along the U.S.-Mexican border. [Note: Mexico indicated the border fence will work. That is why it is threatening to go to the U.N. to block the fence from being built].
She voted against "against a requirement that businesses use an electronic system to verify whether new hires have the legal right to work in the U.S. "

President Bush deports undocumented workers. That is why Nancy Pelosi is upset.
8 months ago: ...“A day after federal agents netted 1,300 meat plant workers in the largest immigration sweep in U.S. history, federal officials pledged on Wednesday to continue a crackdown on illegal workers and identity theft." http://www.swiftraid.org/media/articles/12-13-06ReutersUSChasesIDTheft.pdf

It is a myth vegetable prices will go up, and it is a myth we need undocumented workers to pick vegetables. By the way, do you actually think growers pass along the extra profits to consumers? The price of lettuce will stay the same.

Machines can pick tomatoes faster than undocumented workers. Also, Americans using cherry pickers can pick avacodos and fruit faster than undocumented workers. The problem is growers found it is cheaper to hire undocumented workers than to buy new equipment. The growers don't pass along the savings to consumers. Unfortunately, tax payers end up paying the bills for undocumented workers. California alone spends over $10 billion a year on undocumented workers. In Los Angeles, it is shown that undocumented people use the health care system just as much as Americans do. The problem is undocumented workers don't pay their bills.
