Yes! It can...Its happened to me before. But it could happen the opposite way too....I hated my friend David for about 2 years and guess what? He was one of my longest relationships.

Well, it certainly can. You really have to work at keeping a relationship together.... and they can get very nasty and hateful. Even if you did love each other in the beginning.
