yes, twice - sadly

first was in Paris on a school trip,
they were pulling a dead body out of the seine just as our bataeu went past, very gross as he was all bloated and his skin had gone a funny blue/black colour.

the second was when I witnessed a bad car accident. I went to ask if anyone needed help from one car but the male driver was obviously dead (not going into details but there was no way he was alive)

it's sad but it makes you appreciate your own life and your loved ones a bit more as you think it could have been you.

Dozens, all at once in the Dissecting Room of Liverpool Medical School in the 1950s. I spent 18 months dissecting dead bodies to learn anatomy.
Hated it and dropped out of Med School after 3 years.

I used to work in a nursing home, so I saw dead bodies all the time. It did not upset me in the slightest, because it was their time to go. It is different though when it is someone you care about.

The most upsetting time, was when I paid a visit to my grandparents and my grandad had literally just died. It was a bit of a shock and he was lying in the dining room covered up. When I saw his body before he was buried, he did not look real. Though he resemble him, the body lying there was not my granddad. What made him, him was gone.

I was there when my grandmother died in the hospice. She obviously knew she was going to die, and the last words she spoke were to my mum. My nan was waiting for her to come before she could finally rest. My mum, my nan's sister and I sat with her as she slowly lost consciousness and then drew her last breathe. She looked so peaceful once she was gone, like she was sleeping.

I think once rigour mortis has set in, and the facial muscles is when a dead body ceases to "look" like the person who has died.

i was coming home from work about 1am on the A34 and a car had came down the wrong way of the dual carriage way . one car was upside down the other was smashed in the front. i was the first person on the scene and i walked up to the upside down car and shouted if anyone was ok. there was no answer. there was 4 people in the car. 2 minutes later a lorry driver turned up and started trying to talk to the 4 people. i walked over to the other car and a lady was crushed in th drivers seat. she was ok but shaken. the police arrived within 5 mins of me ringing them and i left. i checked the news the next day and all 4 people died instantly. the lady was ok.

Yes, several insects, a wild bird which flew against our window died in my hands, I saw my fathers dead body, thought his skin looked like that of a chicken, I can't remember if I actually saw my brothers body when he was dead, I remember the nurse offering me a cup of tea, and knew what that meant.

My mother died when I was very young, I was told she had gone up to Heaven, and I couldn't understand why prople were crying, Heaven was supposed to be a nice place.

At funerals of course, but on one occasion I saw a motorcyclist who had just crashed his bike, was thrown into the air and landed on a 4x4 fence post with such force that it impaled him and broke off, leaving him lying on his back with the post protruding from his abdomen. I still hear his last breath slowly leaving him.
