Call your OB and speak with him or his nurse. Tell them EXACTLY how you are feeling. Yes, they could prescribe something or your GP could.

Definately call your Dr. Trust me, they want you to call no matter whether it's day or night. I suffer from post partum depression as a result of bipolar disorder and post tramatic stress disorder, so I know how bad it is and how fast the symptoms can hit you. Don't suffer alone, get some help. And if you don't feel like anyone can relate to you, you can email me since I know what you are going through.

Hug your baby, and call your doctor!

Good Luck!

Yes, your OB should prescribe them. They will most likely ask you some questions. My husband and I lost a baby girl at 21 weeks last year and a few weeks later I had to go on Zoloft and my OB was the one that prescribed it.

It depends upon how bad it is. I had postpartum depression after my first one. It started when she was a month old and lasted until she was three months old. I never got any medicine for it and it went away on its own. Try to eat right and get enough sleep.

PPD is nothing to be ashamed of. There's a difference between PPD & PP Psycosis. Call your OBGYN & let them know your symptoms.
