So my friend hit her head really hard againest a wall shelf, now she has a huge wlet on the back of her head which of course hurts. Is there any chance that she got a concussion, and is there any reason why she shouldn't go to sleep?

I'd love to hear anyone's experience with a simular situation. As she thinks sitting in the ER for hours and being told to just take some advil is too likly and costly.

She hasn't got to sleep all night.

is this a young girl? if so, please tell her folks.ice and advil will help a little with the pain and swelling but there is no way to know if she has a concussion w/o seeing the doc.

she needs to at least call a doctor and see what they advise. Worse case, she may have bleeding on her brain.

Search WebMD for head injuries. It will give you something to go on.
