I am assuming that you mean financially.

There is no way to tell by looking. There is an excellent book on the subject that is called The Millionaire Next Door. The authors were doing work for a luxury goods company that wanted to find where rich people were who would buy their products. What they found was that truly wealthy people generally did not flaunt it and lived very conservatively.

The previous poster who said that many people keep up the appearance of having money or wealth when everything they own is on credit, etc. It is too true! You would need an honest balance sheet.

The only way to tell is to see an honest balance sheet. You can't tell by looking at them. Heck, lots of poor people drive nice cars and live in nice houses... but they're in debt way beyond the value of what they own. I'd rather look poor and be rich, myself.

I agree with "Rush is a band" you have got to read the book "The Millionaire Next Door." The people that you think are rich probably are not, and the people that are rich might surprise you.
