Some have speculated for months that Steinbrenner is in failing health. The issue involving his financial empire has come up a lot lately. Everything I have read has indicated that many of his holdings could be sold off but that does not include the Yankees. Those close to the family, and the family themselves have indicated that the Yankees would remain in the estate of the family and would not be sold.

As a die-hard red sox fan for my entire life, I have always hated the Yankees, but I think it is a love-hate relationship. I love when the Yankees come to town and I love the games, but I hate the loss that possibly comes with it. As much as I hate them though. I think George Steinbrenner has done great things and would hate to see any part of the Yankees go. On the topic It would be the same if Joe Torre left the Yankees. The team would never be the same.

I must end this though with GO RED SOX

Great, I don't know. He is one of the better owners in baseball. I mean what owner goes out and pays for the best players money can buy for several years and still watch them not make it to the World Serious every year. He is getting old, just like the Yankees winning streak and roster. They need a new fresh owner that knows some of the new names in baseball. Go Red Sox!!!!!

George will retire soon and he has nobody to take over the business. It was to be his son-in-law, but he and George's daughter are getting divorced.
