According to GetOdd.com, quite a lot of wood! (Assuming the furry little critter chucked at all. I have it on good authority that they're stubborn and don't take direction very well.)
Per hour (median amount): 158 butt cords.
Per day: 684 butt cords.
Extrapolating from those figures:
Per month: 20748 butt cords.
Per year (assuming 364 days - Woodchucks take Groundhog Day off):
248976 butt cords.
Of course, the Mad Scientist's Network has different figures, claiming that the average woodchuck can chuck about 700 pounds of wood in the same amount of time it takes him to build his burrow. They don't say how long that takes, alas, but the figures are interesting:
"How much wood [...]"

...and then there's The Straight Dope, who says:
"Are you kidding? Everybody knows a woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

And Peter Piper only picked one peck of pickled peppers.

The soil removed in the course of digging one burrow averages 716 pounds (325 kg), and they don't eat wood either, but I'd say if a woodchuck could chuck wood that he'd chuck about the same amount wood as he chucks soil in the course of digging his burrow....about 716 lbs.

These answers are way too difficult! Woodchucks just trick the beavers into doing all of the work! They are brilliant little creatures who just don't like to work too hard!!So, the answere is very little and he is doing it only because he couldn't trick the beavers- LOL
