Hey, I was going through Alaska laws, and apparently:

Are there any situations when an underage persons can legally possess and consume alcoholic beverages.

Yes, if the underage persons are not on licensed premises and the alcoholic beverages are provided by their parents, legal guardians or spouse over the age of 21 years.

Does the same thing apply in Massachusetts?

Massachusetts residents who are under the age of 21 can't in no circumstance possess alcoholic beverages, nor can they consume any alcoholic beverages. This law also applys to premises that are not licensed. The Social Host Law of Massachusetts clearly defines that any person who serves alcohol to minors is responsible, even if its at home.

That is NOT entirely true in Alaska. The minor can POSSESS, but may not consume. Basically, this is the "Son, hold my beer while I cast the line" law. No, they can't even possess in MA.
