Uh, you've got the parties wrong.
It's Bush Co who have declared everyone who disagrees with Bush (the vast majority of Americans) "terrorists who hate America". It was the Bushies who jailed people for their views (or even for simply existing) in NCY during the Republican National Convention of 04, and it's the conservatives on this site that want to exile, jail, or even kill all liberals and all Democrats.
It's the right who hate anyone who doesn't toe their line, not the left.

Where do you guys get this information.
It's the dems that want to protect your Freedom of Speech.
Bush, Rep., is slowly taking them away.
When people disagree it is called a debate. That is what this forum is, isn't it? People with different ideas debating? Listening to other peoples ideas is a good way to gather knowledge. Nobody wants to take away your freedom of speech there would no longer be a forum here if we did that.

Cons want to do this. That why Bush created cages for Americans exercising their rights as Americans called, "Free Speech Zones." Sorry but in AMERICA everywhere is supposed to be a "FREE SPEECH ZONE"!!!!
And that's also why they got rid of the Fairness Doctrine (1948-1987). Who wants to give equal time to the views of all Americans, when politicians and media moguls can TELL you what to think? Shortly after ending the Fairness Doctrine, Limbaugh came into the picture spreading his hate and ignorance and the brainwashing neocon agenda (and calling his own listeners "dittoheads"). I'd gladly see the end of Air America, to see these brainwashing propaganda shows replaced by talk shows giving equal airtime like they did in the past--when journalism had higher standards.
Dittohead: One who agrees with an idea mindlessly, especially those who agree because they are supporters of the person who started the idea

I disagree with trying to restrict what the right says no matter if it is right or wrong we should focus on spreading ou TRUE values so people will be able to know when indviduals are being biased rather it be from the left or right.

First, you would need to cite facts that support your allegation that Dems want that.
Second, lose the "nazi" stuff. Only losers call others fascists, usually because they have nothing factual or logical or rational to say.
The Democrats aren't going to get rid of free speech, nor are they going to imprison or execute people.
Stop the outrageous rhetoric!

"Fairness" Doctrine. Where do you get out of that silencing anyone. It was in effect for 35 years in this country. It didn't silence anyone. The news was a double sided issue instead of just somebody ranting a bunch of lying, over-emotional, bull pucky. Can't Rush argue with someone on the other side of the spectrum. No, he just wants to rant unabated. It is, however, government control and will never pass. So, we are stuck with the rantings of idiots with no rebuttal. I guess you'll have it your way.

If one cannot argue their positions and agendas with valid and verifiable facts against opposing views - then silencing the opposition is the only recourse they have.
Anyone else think the Fairness Doctrine isn't a step in this direction is delusional.

I don't know about the Dems, but anyone who supports Hugo Chavez must like this idea. He's sure doing it in Venezuela.
