BATTLING SYSTEMIC LUPUS (WHICH HAS ATTACKED MY ORGANS AND WENT TO BRAIN) (HAD A COMPLETE HYSTERECTOMY IN MY 20s), ARNOLD CHIARI MALFORMATION AND OTHER PHYSICALITIES WHICH COINCIDE WITH THESE DISEASES WITHOUT MY IMMEDIATE FAMILY. I WAS BRUTALLY ATTACKED WITH A BREAK-IN IN MY HOME IN 2001.....GOING THROUGH THE TRIAL ALONE WITH NO FAMILY WAS PROBABLY THE TOUGHEST , THE PERSON WAS SENTENCED TO 9 YRS. IN PRISON!!!!!!! (I MADE IT THROUGH)..MY MOTHER DIED 10 YRS AGO OF A RARE CANCER AT HOME WITH ME. MY FATHER DIED OF KIDNEY PROBLEMS AND CANCER. MY GRANDPARENTS WERE GONE BEFORE I WAS BORN OR JUST SOON AFTER. EXCEPT FOR MY MATERNAL GRANDFATHER WHO DIED OF CANCER WHEN I WAS TEN. I NEVER REALLY BRING THIS UP UNLESS ASKED, I AM NOT ONE FOR SYMPATHY...THERE ARE MANY IN THE WORLD WHO NEED MUCH HELP AND EMPATHY WHICH I TRY TO GET INVOLVED IF I AM NEEDED. I DO WHAT I CAN.

Being raised by my father.
No, I'm not giving a sob-story, and I certainly realize that many people have had terrible childhoods, but as far as the question is concerned, my biggest struggle, which continues into this day, has been being raised by my father. I hate to go deep into detail, but just picture your stereotypical, no-nonsense (even if you're 6, or 7, or 8), hard-headed marine. This is my father, with a splash of Christianity. The Marine Corps has really shaped him into who he is today, and though I certainly don't condemn it, as I'm very humbled by the brave men who enlist to this day and make such a sacrifice for their country, I cannot condone the way he reverts to these experiences he has had when it comes to governing his life and the lives of his children. I am thankful that he has learned that there are really some things that *never* should be said or done, and treats my younger siblings like a truly godly father should, but to this day, I am treated the same as he did in the past? Why? I ask him and he cannot answer. Guess it's just ingrained in him...

My biggest struggle is too personal to post here, but it was a long hard road and Yes I made it through it. Not only did I make it thru it, I am much stronger and independent because of it.
Although the pain I suffered through it all made feel like I was just going to die at times, I can say it was almost worth it to be where I am now.

I am still going through the biggest struggle. It's actively trying to find work so that I can get off welfare. I am one of the few that actually have used the help AS HELP and I'm NOT trying to be on this sh*t for the rest of my life. I hate feeling like a sponge, and I want to WORK and be self-sufficient!
Had an interview today, and it was very VERY promising! YAY! Good bye, welfare! HELLO working world! PRAISE GOD!!!:D

I think for me the hardest thing has been living away from those I love. My sister & fiance live in a different country than my own & it's been really hard loving people who I can't be with. I would love to split myself in 3 just so I could do it all but that's obviously not going to happen so I deal with it one day at a time and keep going. One day we'll all be together again & that's the day I'm looking forward to.

Battling cancer (well I'm here now)
and raising kids every day is a new challenge - but I've got three great kids, so so far so good. You get through it all with laughter, good friends and family.

Not having any immediate family . . .
My mother passed away a few months ago. My dad, maternal and paternal grandparents are all deceased.
I'm working my way through it.

The constant battle between full time employment, full time motherhood, full time college student, and also.. full time woman. I’ll fall over one day and thank myself but right now, not feeling grateful…LOL
