This is a common complaint for pregnant women. I didn't experience it very much when I was pregnant. Try to wear clothes that are loose and will not compress your ribs. Practice good posture, by sitting or standing up straight. You will probably find it uncomfortable to slump down onto your uterus and prefer sitting in high chairs with a straight back. When lying in bed or resting on the sofa, support yourself on cushions. There's very little you can do to relieve the pain in your ribs as the uterus grows. Although you may have heard that it is dangerous to lift your arms above your head, your doctor can reassure you that lifting your ribcage off the uterus can provide you some relief. Practice stretching exercises and try lying on the side opposite of the pain when you are resting.

My doctor told me the pain was due to the baby pressing up against my ribs. You may want to try and lay in different positions or get up and walk around. I know a light jog would help me move my baby around and it was also a good way for me to get exercise.

I used to get the most intense pain in my right ribcage. It would happen after I would eat. The baby is pushing on you and causing this. Pretty soon you will drop and your baby will shift a little. Then you should have some relief. This is the home stretch, literally, the most uncomfortable part of your pregnancy.

All I know is I have a pain in my right rib, and its because my babys foot is wedged up in there because there isn't a lot of room for her. So, I would say its probably just your baby stretching.

Yes I had that pain. When you get that big the top of your uterus is pretty much touching your ribs so that could be causing the pain. Or maybe your baby is resting his or her foot in your ribs.

You have tendons that start at your ribs and come around your belly, holding it in place. As your belly grows they are stretched to their limits.
It is quite painful, its almost like a constant stitch in your side.
Try swimming to work those muscles, and stretching. They have yoga for pregnancy :)
If you're very concerned insist on some more testing by your doctor.

Heart attack? An X-ray doesn't show anything about heart attacks. Could be an ulcer. Could be a lot of things. You should go to your family doctor and get checked out. The ER doesn't always do a thorough job - they just make sure you aren't dying.

Its probably where your baby likes to tuck its feet in or something. I had the same thing right under my breast bone and Its still kinda a numb spot four years later, but nothing to worry about.

I think that it is your baby kicking you in the ribs and actually bruising them. This happened to me with my first child.

it's probably just the baby's position in that spot and unfortunately, your rib is there
