We have dried fruit tree logs that has been laying in the backyard. I would like to use them for fire when I go camping. I don't want to use them if they give off too much sparks. The campsite is pretty dry and I don't want to cause any fires. I've look online for answers but all I read is about maple trees for fire. Can anyone help? Thanks for answering!

fruit trees are a hard wood and burn very nicely. Apple is great for cooking meat over. Soft woods such as pine with needles have pitch and oil that give off sparks these are the type to be avoided.

For camping they should work fine if you are not going to a park. Most parks now prohibit bringing firewood into the park due to a bug that affects ash trees.

I wouldn't see why not, though some fruit trees burn badly, slowly, or smell really bad when burned. Ask whoever you got the wood from.

Yes, apple wood is especially favorable.

as long as its dry, it probably wont spit out too many sparks.
Anywood that has sap (all wood) has the potential to throw sparks. Pine is probably the worse offender.

Enjoy.
