I know its not much but if it happens to everyone at the same gas station it starts to add up....

Many stations charge a different price for cash and credit. In these cases the pump starts by displaying the cash (lower) price. When you insert your card, the display switches to the credit (higher) price. I believe some states have barred the cash/credit price difference.

The gas pumps are certified to be accurate within certain limits. The certifying agency varies depending on where you live. In Texas it is the Department of Agriculture. Find out who certifies the pumps where you live and suggest they inspect that location.
