The indigenous population of Mexico is native (Indian), there were later conquering populations from Spain and Portugal (and even a few Europeans).

There are some families (and areas) that would clearly be Mediterranean, and therefor of European ancestry but the majority would be native ancestry.

Mexicans are from Mexico, Mexicans have Spanish ancestors (so does the whole latin America) but that doesn't make them Spanish.

Mexicans are from Mexico....Spanish people are from Spain.
