Sometimes the questions are deliberately stupid in hopes of prompting the person to pay attention to the reporter and not cameras or things going on around them. Other times, you're not allowed to ask certain questions because the police have forbidden it or it'll traumatize the person (Did you see him shoot the victim? What did it sound/look like?) but you know the audience at home wants first-hand reports so dumb questions are your compromise.

Pretty much ANY question asked by Nancy Grace seems a little stunned. (How\When did being a rude, obnoxious 'know-it-all' become a substitute for a Degree in Journalism?). Ha!

Quite an impressive list of stupid reporter questions! You really put a lot of thought into it and I really can't think of any others right now, as I think you covered them all! They really do ask some idiotic questions, don't they?!? Take care!

All of the questions Katie Couric asked the father of a boy who was killed at Columbine High School.
It is why I don't watch the news anymore....

well it's not exactly a question, but it is about reporters being dumb. "we don't have much information, concidering the only wittness is in a coma. but we have another witness here that may be able to answer some questions"
