I think perfectly fine for myself thank you. Your question appears to be no more than a penchent for pufferry and more reaction-oriented. The "Will Of the People" is very much alive in America. You apparently are just stereo-typical... Maybe one day you will actually get the opportunity (and visa) to come here and meet some of the wonderful people that live in this great land! God Bless America!

There is a basic human impulse to want to identify with a larger group, as a way of seeking acceptance and validation. A Political party can fulfill that need. Since the primary thrust of a political party is the rhetoric of public policy, identifying with a party means toeing it's ideaological line. Such people /can/ think for themselves, but they either choose not to do so, or use thier party's dogma as unquestionable axioms in thier reasoning.

***Beware of sheep in wolves' clothing!***
Some people love to "talk tough" but are just mouthpieces for their respective camps when spouting off blind rhetoric. What's mindboggling are the sheer number of people who claim to be independent thinkers but will almost always pander their ideology based on what others tell them to believe. It's called intellectual laziness. Parrotting party dogma may make them feel superior when in reality, they are just caged birds whistling tired old tunes.

Speaking for myself... I'm Libertarian in my views (pro-individual rights; pro-free market economy). No, free market economy does NOT mean "if you can steal it, it's free"! My party affiliation reflects my thinking: Independent. However, I am an ardent admirer of Marx... Groucho Marx of course!

My mom had a saying, we are all born originals and die carbon copies. I think that is true with all cultures. We all believe the same as our families, friends etc.. This is a general statemate and will not always follow the rule but for the most part does.

No party controls my thoughts... the problem is that we only really have two parties to choose from... the are plenty of bad things about both parties, I just choose the one that I think isn't as bad...

Most are mindless drones it's like watching football reviles, were nearing our end. Rome was over when the game became more important than the Government. In this case the game is political football and winner takes all, no middle ground anymore it is a result of the false innocent verdict of Clinton the Republicans saw how corrupt the dims were and decided to mimic their behavior.
