If the IRS is getting 33% of your income you are either making a lot of money (for married filing jointly in 2006 33% kicks in at $178,650 of TAXABLE income) or you are getting very poor tax advice. In fact to actually pay 33% on your total taxable income you would have to be in the 35% tax bracket which starts at $319,100.

On an income of almost $88,000 I paid only 6.6% federal income tax in 2006. That's married, two kids with a modest mortgage.

So boo hoo hoo that someone can't buy that yacht they've had their eye on and can't hire that second maid because they need to pay their fair show for the thousand and one services the government provides.

Sorry but you need to share that income with others who have not won "life's lottery" like you have. If your federal tax rate is 33% then you earn to much.

I completely beleive that if everyone understood exactly how much is stolen from their paychecks we would have a revolt.

I would feel the same way as I do now. I pay too much in taxes for all of the various levels of government.

IF,,,and here's the IF part of it...IF the IRS took 33% of EVERYBODY's money...including the corporations...I'd say let's do it. There'd be money to burn. We'd have better schools...better highways...and health care for everybody.

On my way to the bank, I drove on the road. Thanks government.
Traffic lights? Thanks again, government.
At the bank, the FDIC will insure my money if the bank fails. Again, a good deal for me.
Would I like to pay lower taxes? Sure.
But in America we all get a lot for our tax dollars. Yes there is corruption, but that is because of people, not the government.

Same system as we have now - If you refuse to pay your taxes and take that refusal to its' ultimate ends; refuse to let your property be confiscated and refuse to let yourself be arrested, they will send the men with guns to kill you.

Let them. I simply won't bank. Now I realize that wouldn't work for most people, but if I wanted to, I could get away with that. :)

LOL!

I'm self-employed, and that's just about how it is.

I think taxes are too high.
