I don't believe so. Your question has not spiraled out of control. However, I do believe that you have quite a number of questions to ask. To begin with your original question, I spend about half an hour everyday thinking about myself - that is to say, my goals, my aspirations, my duties, my obligations etc. Next, you cannot assume that our existence is repetitive in nature. Every human being born on this earth is unique, even if you take rebirth into account. Further, I do not believe that the thinking process of the mind of a human being can be so simplistically defined as 'cyclic'. It is a multi-dimensional process involving complexities of emotions and needs, among many other factors. So your question 'Do you think the repetitive nature of our existence is based on the reality that our thinking is cyclic?' is redundant. Next, as I have already mentioned that our thought process is not cyclic, so your next question 'Is this cyclic nature one of the challenges of living in a spiral galaxy?' also becomes redundant. The question 'Does time exist in a non spiral galaxy?' is I think best answered by a physicist and I am no physicist. A suggestion : Pal, you need to see a psychiatrist...
