No, He wouldn't stand a chance in the South or any of the red states. He'd be too liberal for their taste.

Nah, his schtick is too old school. Nobody believes in what he said anymore. Check this out and see what about todays government or religious institutions seems to follow His teachings:

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they shall possess the earth.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven

When I see a "WWJD" bumpersticker next to a "Bush/Cheney '04", I just gotta laugh.

Are we talking cute little Baby Jesus? The teacher Jesus? Or deity Jesus?

Yeah, Jesus definitely couldn't win POTUS. He couldn't hoard enough money to run an effective campaign and still help the sick and needy.

He would be too liberal for the right and to religious for the left. Nope He wouldn't win. He stayed out of politics anyway. Smart of him to do that.

I remember MAD magazine did an add parody during the Kerry/Bush race, & the premise was quotes from scripture as Jesus head got bigger each frame, the final one was a negative image of him with the quote, "Jesus, Wrong on social services, Wrong on crime, Wrong on defence, Wrong for America" It was pretty funny, & I could see it happening for real, if it were possible....

If Jesus really ran, liberals would not vote for him. Because he loved the poor, but he would not with them on most social issues.

Well let's see, he would definitely appeal to those who are anti abortion and have wholesome family values. He would appeal to those who oppose the death penalty. I'm not too sure how he'd do with those who feel differently. And I'm sure he'd be trying very hard to avoid another crucifixtion, so if he was smart, he wouldn't run at all.

If he could get all the Democrats out to vote, he would. If Republicans didn't know it was Jesus, himself, I seriously doubt they'd vote for him.

As soon as he said render unto Caesar, Cons would all become atheists and vote for the other guy.

Sorry but Jesus adhered to the Law as set down by Moses. If one insists on putting a modern label on Jesus, I'd say that in the most straightforward, theological sense, he was a "conservative" Jew. But he refused to abide by the legalism that the "hyperfundamentalists" had infected it with. Jesus said that he had not come to change one "jot or tittle" of the Law, but to fulfill it."- (Matthew 5). Unless the spiritual purpose of the Law is understood, it's just a bunch of rules (and we know how humans bend, reinterpret, ignore and rebel against rules). Jesus was looking for heart change.
