Question: Is this Bush ECONOMY too HOT?
ANSWER: You have posted blatant lies, misrepresentations, distorted data, cherry-picked statistics, and you have pointedly ignored real-life facts.

Such as:
*millions of jobs outsourced
*real wages declining every year since 2000
*19-year record drops in housing purchases
*record number of foreclosures
*record-breaking number of bankruptcies declared
*numbers of Americans living in poverty increasing every year since bush
*budget slashes in Veteran's benefits
*numbers of unemployed people NOT COLLECTING UNEMPLOYMENT are not on the "unemployment stats"
*violent crime UP UP UP
*Americans working LONGER HOURS for SAME MONEY is not the same as "increased productivity" you silly, it's essentially SLAVERY.
*record mergers and buy-outs (translation: consolidation/monopoly/fewer JOBS).

“Household Income Declined By Nearly $1,300 Under Bush”

Wage And Salary Increases Don't Cover Inflation. Although median household income increased by $509 last year, median household income has declined by $1,273 under the Bush Administration. And the failure of wage and salary increases to cover inflation has meant a real reduction of median income between 2000 and 2005 of 2.7 percent for households. [U.S. Census Bureau, 8/29/06; Table A-1; Center for American Progress, 8/29/06]” "Millions more Americans have also joined the ranks of the uninsured during the Bush Presidency. In 2000, 39.8 million Americans were uninsured, while that number rose to 46.6 million in 2005. [U.S. Census; Kaiser Family Foundation] Bush and his Republican allies have also refused to raise the minimum wage while voting to increase their own salaries. President Bush’s handling of America’s finances is not any better, having turned record surpluses into record deficits. "

"Senate GOP Blocked Minimum Wage Vote For 9th Time; Congressional Pay Up $30,000 During Same Period.
"The Republican-controlled Senate smothered a proposed election-year increase in the minimum wage Wednesday, rejecting Democratic claims it was past time to boost the $5.15 hourly pay floor that has been in effect for nearly a decade. ... The Senate vote marked the ninth time since 1997 that Democrats there have proposed -- and Republicans have blocked -- an increase in the minimum wage. ... Kennedy also said lawmakers' annual pay has risen by roughly $30,000 since the last increase in the minimum wage." [AP, 6/22/06] http://www.democrats.org/a/2006/10/the_real_bush_e.php

And now, for the death blow: “Most Americans, who have been hearing endless reports about the so-called economic "boom" on TV, may not realize that the country is, in fact, worth a third less than it was a few years ago.

2007-08-02 06:33:10 · update #3

”may not realize that the country is, in fact, worth a third less than it was a few years ago. With the dollar plummeting in value, the U.S. economy is far poorer when measured in terms of Euros or pounds. For 30 years, wealth inside America has been shifted from the working poor to the stock-optioned rich, and the White House and the media expect us to celebrate -- as though a booming stock market is going to cheer up the single mother who has been thrown off welfare and forced to look for a minimum wage job. But with the dollar falling so precipitously, it's time to pay close attention to just how badly our economy has gone awry. The secret to the looming catastrophe is our bloated deficits, trade and budget. Last year, for example, we bought over $100 billion more stuff from China than we sold them. China took a leaf from Japan's book and bought U.S. treasury bonds with the surplus.

2007-08-02 06:33:28 · update #4

. This in turn kept our external payments in balance, and gave George W. the money he needed for the Iraq war and beloved tax cuts. Neat, huh? It is not just China and Japan, but also South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan that are reinvesting their trade surplus in treasury bonds. In other words, fast as you can sing "the West is in the Red," the U.S. budget deficit is now entirely dependent on Asian capital flows.”

To MadPol: You posted this:

"And Yahoo has outsourced complaint monitoring to Singapore, where English is a third language."

Can this possibly be true? That's insane. Makes no sense whatsoever. Is this true?

And here's her profile, although I have no idea if she's the one who delete me or not:

That's the price for angering the Bush Dividians. They have a hive mentality and will attack as a swarm if their leader is under attack. (All 23 percent that still support him that is.)

The very thing that this country needs is 'alternative' opinions. Free speech should be open and honest. Not some soundbite from some massaged editorial. Good for you for keeping at getting views out there. We have been ruled by and through fear since 2001, instead of giving Americans an articulate, "make the world better" discussion. It's time that those in absolute power are held with absolute accountability.

It is said that the victor writes or rewrites history!
Well in the same vein, the rich make the rules, and we all know who has most of the money!
1a! Never dis a Republican! (or God will get you)!
2b. Never call a Republican a liar or misinformed1 (they will get you!!
3c Never defend yourself as a Dem-Lib! ( You are unworthy to live) And you 'Whine"(For shame)!
4d never present the Republican with true fact, as this confuses their concepts of reality! (Not a pretty sight)
5eNever listen to the right wing controlled medias they hide these truths that are coming out now!
6f If you wish to hear the real news? Listen to Jon Stewart! He may comic it up, but, By god, its true!
And, Blue? Keep up the good work! Oh, and can you believe that they are saying now, that we are going to blame Bush for the bridge collapse in Minnesota! How is that for ignorant? The only place I have heard that, is on here, and now on the news! That the gov. i.e. Bush should build better bridges, tunnels, roads, ect! I thought that was the job of each state?

Blue,

I am not comfortable with censorship especially in an open format such as Yahoo Answers.

The site must allow almost anything short of gross vulgarisms and encouraging the overthrow of the government by force of arms.

If Yahoo succumbs to pressure from any segment of the society they will be guilty of surrendering their freedom of their own volition, which is the most retched form of volunteer slavery, and at the same time robbing us of ours.

This is disturbing.

Yeah, I do believe it. Republitrolls hate it when their beautiful theories are slain by ugly facts. They think that their fantasy worlds can only be maintained by keeping their hands over everyone's ears to keep the truth out. And they're right. Most of their stuff doesn't stand up to even a critical reading.

I blame outsourcing. Much of this stuff is coming from the RNC's paid trolls in their Bombay computer center. And Yahoo has outsourced complaint monitoring to Singapore, where English is a third language.

Could you post a link to her profile so that we can all block her? I'm just glad most of my questions are about Religion and Culture. The only ones deleted have been about unjustified deletions.

And Stubbs, I agree with you except the one word should be Sociopathy.

Awesome - never give up and keep the truth pouring out

They can sensor some, but not all

The States are starting to show the real economical reports - the housing decline, bankrupsy and foreclosures are not a secret anymore!

The outsourcing is obvious now

They can't hide the truth forever

The Government can't hand money printing operations to a private company who prints it out of thin air and then borrows foreign money against that funny money creating an ever growing debt that can never be repaid. The bottom is about to fall out from under us, and the sheep refuse to see it!

The dropping dollar is obvious - all one has to do is look at the currency rates.

No wonder they want a North American Union - soon the dollar will only be worth as much as a Peso. Mexico can relate to that

I have about $50,000 in gold over the last 5 years - they can't devalue my gold!

Keep posting the truth

You can always make a new screen name - because the value of truth is to important and it saves lives

Off the Orc Soapbox temporarily:

You and the person harassing you by having your questions deleted are both going overboard. You go overboard by giving TMI and very little credible citation (let's face it - political parties are legally allowed to LIE, so Dem party info is immediately suspect). Whoever has your questions deleted is going overboard by being a net-Nazi. Why don't they just call out your question directly and back it up with proof? Instead, they do the internet equivalent of book burning and, to make matters worse, Y!A thoughtlessly accomodates such behavior.

Ok, back to Orc Soapbox:

Orcs love abusing others, whether through specious data or censoring speech! We rule! ORCS!!!!

Throw in the fact that only the wealthiest are staying ahead of inflation. But you do realize that your analysis brings blame on both the republicans and democrats. Both parties are out of touch.
But to your real point, some people take things too seriously and become offended even though it isn't a personal attack.
Republicans usually envision a far-left extremist in their mind when Bush is questioned. Democrats usually envision a right-wing religious fanatic when Hillary or Bill are questioned.

I agree with Tim that the President has nothing to do with the economy.

I answered PNAC Penelope's Hot Bush economy a few times raising the issues of the housing market, the value of the dollar, rising prices and stagnant wages. Of course I get no respons and she posts the same ignorant question the next day. I concluded there's no point in answering her questions.

hey Tim... the "Bush Economy" term was used in PNAC Penelope's question, not in Blue's answer.

I refuse to answer any more of that girl's questions. Her points may have links to them but they're biased greatly.

Oh and her every-other-word in caps thing annoys the hell out of me.

Blue- I have always found your arguments/points to be right on the mark!

The facts sound good. Perhaps it is in the delivery.

I know the few that still support this administration can be irritating but try to attack their facts, not them.

Although I really did not see any harm except the little baby stuff ;)
