I mean with all the jobs to choose from, a man decides who wants to go be a combatant in a war zone and get well paid for it. Thats a personal choice isn't it? PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY...RIGHT?

no. heavy metal...i dont extend that line of thinking. You can if you want.

But dont say i do and then attack me for saying something I did not do. its an old trick of debating.

Firefighters and policeme are doing their jobs jobs that we the citizens of america recognize as necessary and are willing to pay them well to do. These jobs are normally associated as keeping the peace and helping save people.

A mercenary is someone who gets paid to be in a war zone that he has no obligation to be in. He is not serving in his country's military..cause he wants to make the big bucks being a mercenary...

no, anyone who Chooses to make money off of war and dies has none of my sympathy.. I don't loath him or anything.. I just give them no sympathy.

Edit: If they want to defend the nation... they should join the military.. they aren't there because of their beliefs.. they are there because there is money to be made.

I have no sympathy for those who set out to make money off of death.

Firefighters and the likes are trying to preserve life.. that's a big difference.

It doesn't matter how you feel about the war in general, these kids are putting themselves in harms way for a reason. In some cases, the people who enlist believe in the cause, in some cases they have no other options because of economic restraints, and in some cases they have an obligation to take care of there families no matter how they do it. An issue that I have with the question is how you described the word mercenary. Let's look at the word mercenary below, it doesn't quite fit the description that you have painted. I am also not quite sure that anyone was asking for sympathy.

Yes we should feel sorry for him. He is an American and he's lost his life doing something he thought would make things better for himself, his family and even his country. As opposed to the idiot slobs sitting at homing begging for national health care gifts and welfare checks - this man his a Hero.

I feel bad for any human death.

Josef Stalin said " The death of a man is a tragedy, the death of a million is a statistic" And we all know what a creep he was.

Good Q.
Sorry for his/her death, Yes!
Lots of people make bad choices, as a society (USA) we tend to help, when we can.
And what is wrong with that, I ask?

Will you then extend that line of thinking to officers and firefighters as well? Hey, they know the hazards of their lines of work, and they're getting paid to do it as well. No tears for them, either!!!....RIGHT??
