By the time lunch rolls around, you'll have met a lot of people in your classes. There will be lots of people who will feel scared, and you'll end up laughing about it together.

Be cheerful! No one wants to meet someone that's not friendly! While in the lunch line, ask the person in front or behind you questions. For example,
"I'm new here, do they have good food?"
"I don't know very many people here, is there somewhere I shouldn't sit or shouldn't sit by?"
"I sure wish they had a McDonald's here".
"I really like your shirt, where did you buy it?"
- strike up a conversation in line, then ask if they mind that you sit with them since you don't know many people. If they're sitting with other people, you might just meet a whole new group of freinds. Anything to get the ball rolling. If you're friendly, you'll make more friends a lot faster.
Have confidence! If you like yourself, other people will too!

Bring a big bag of chips or cookies. People will have to talk to you if they want a bite.
Or, find someone you recognize from your morning classes and say "Hey, aren't you you in English with me? That teacher sounds like a bit ch, huh? Mind if I sit here?"

Find someone that you know or like from your class that it right before lunch and sit with them. Learn where all soph. juniors and seniors sit so you sit there. Once you find someone to sit with you will be fine
