I mean, is it really that bad?

Don't get me wrong. Things aren't getting better out there but they aren't getting any worser either. I think the biggest change in the last 20 years has been our sensitivity to things that "shake our world" or comfort zone. I think the media is largely to blame for this. The media is constantly looking for disaster stories and the negative side of things. The modern media is creating mass paranoia and over-reaction in today's highly tenative society. Don't you think?

I think that the world really is that bad, just that before we didn't have mass media to show us what is really going on out there. yes the media puts a spin on any story good or bad but if you truly remain objective and shift through the BS you see behind the bias and see the truth.

I think in terms as sensitivity towards things is an illusion. We look at the news says how bad things and terrible they are eat dinner and go on with our lives. The fact of the matter is "hey that's a thousand miles away". I really don't think care.

Viewer numbers and political agendas. This can entail over statements or understatements. AKA spin.

Of course they are. That is how they justify their jobs, and raise their level of self-importance. Wake up, and start dreaming again!

not really ....i think it really projects the truth of the existing world......if we want perfection we need to eradicate negative things from our lives and know about the negative and positive sides ....i think that is wat is being projected to us by media.
